Homelessness Encampment Assessment and Mitigation in Contra Costa, CA

Prof. Dr. Paula Mota Santos, faculty at University Fernando Pessoa, has collaborated as an external consultant at the University of California – Berkeley, USA, in the project “Homelessness Encampment Assessment and Mitigation in Contra Costa, CA”.

This project is being developed by the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning and the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, CA.

According to the researcher, “the theme of this project is about the homeless population that inhabits the margins of one of the Contra Costa rivers”, and will result on the co-supervision of the work of a master’s degree student in the Department of Landscape Architecture “from the standpoint of ground work and social analysis of the human community involved,” she added.
