Health in prision: program to promote health literacy among peers in prison context

The “Health in prision” program aims to boost a project to promote health literacy for the prision population performed by their peers, focusing on the promotion of effective health messages made by the health technicians and teachers that work in prisons.

The goals of this program are:
– To improve health communication between health professionals and service users within the prison context
– To promote health literacy among prisoners
– To promote competencies of health education on teachers, enabling them to increase the prisoners’ level of health literacy
