SPECIALIZATION IN MEDICAL INFORMATICS
The specialization program in Medical Informatics of the Master’s Degree deepens knowledge in fundamental areas of informatics and allows its application to the field of Health. The importance of the field of Health, whether measured in human, social, economic or technological terms, requires highly qualified professionals and computer-savvy to avoid making mistakes that could result in serious breaches of privacy, deterioration of the service provided, at all levels, and unacceptable costs. On the other hand, these professionals must have adequate knowledge in the area where they will perform their activity and this is the component that this course presents. This specialization is supported by the IT infrastructure of the UFP Teaching Hospital (HE-UFP), which provides a practical/real context for the use of the acquired skills.
Masters in Computer Systems Engineering – Medical Informatics at UFP have advanced and specific skills that allow them to respond to the growing need for professionals who respond to the challenges of Health in the new millennium, and who are prepared with skills and competences to propose, design, develop, operate and adapt information systems and technologies that allow to increase the reach, scope, and effectiveness of health systems, respecting criteria of cost, reasonableness, proportionality and quality.
