What: Exhibit “27 Collages” of comic strips

“From Uderzo and Hal Foster, to Jean “Moebius” Giraud and Hergé, all the greatest comic strip authors are recalled in the context of the exhibit “27 Collages”, on display at the Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão (Carlos Alberto Square), as of March 17th.

The so called ninth art – comics, the art form of combining visual elements with the written word is retraced by Jorge Santos, an aficionado since childhood for this particular way of telling stories.

The exhibit features “Prince Valiant in the Days of King Arthur”, or simply “Prince Valiant”, a long-running comic strip created by Hal Foster in 1937, also the Belgian Georges Rémi, most known as Hergé, the creator of the Tintin comic-strip, Dick Tracy as well, the 1930s comic strip created by Chester Gould, and Hugo Eugenio Pratt, the Italian comic book creator who was known for combining strong storytelling with extensive historical research on works such as “Corto Maltese”, just to mention a few.

This event is entrance free, and the exhibit will be on show till April 14th, from 10 am to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm and from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.”
